Niche Marketing Means Different Things To Different People

The term niche marketing means different things to different people.Generally it is known to mean the developing of websites in sub mainstream market segments to profit from selling products, generating advertising revenue or other forms of website monetization.

Niche marketing is effective because it allows you to operate in markets that are less competitive meaning you have the potential as a new or seasoned marketer to capitalize on big opportunities with relative ease and far less cost.

Particularly for new marketers, niche marketing can be the key to riches because it allows you to compete on a level playing field. You don’t have to jump into the ring with the heavy weights, you can develop your skills in the junior divisions before moving into the big leagues.

If you pick the right niche you can build your site, extablish yourself as an expert, sell your own products, recommend other people’s products, the opportunities can be endless and good money can certainly be made.

The trouble is that as niche marketing grows in popularity, many of the markets we called niche markets are now not so nichey at all, they’re almost as bad as mainstream markets in terms of their competitiveness and difficulty to profit from.

The markets that spring to mind are things like acne, dog training, or anxiety. Markets like these, while they can still be profitable will not make the average web marketer alot of money at all. Even the more nichey versions, acne treatments, dog training videos or anxiety relief are difficult for most people to compete in and make money.

Then there’s the other extreme. You can go to the tiny tiny niches that get almost no search volume. You can find “long tail” keywords like ‘pug training schools in atlanta” or “acne treatments that work in 2 days”. The problem with these are, 1. that they often don’t get enough traffic and 2. they are so specific that even if you can drive traffic, there isn’t much you can do to serve those people except show them ads. Again this can be profitable if you know how to do it but it seems like there just has to be an easier way…

The niche marketers that really make the most money are those that know how to find the perfect balance between competition and search volume. Not only that but they know how to analyze the nature of a niche market to determine how much potential it really has before they enter it.

By doing this they find markets that can make them big money very quickly, faster than most people think possible.

Then when they do find markets they know how to make sites that will capitalize on them as effectively and efficiently as soon as possible. The result? Big profits, easily, and quickly.

There is no doubt that niche marketing although often a tricky game, can be wildly profitable when done right.

If you are interested in the idea of making money online I want to extend you a warm welcome. Its nice in here.

Here are some interesting numbers.

Right now, today, there are 3 or 4 million people looking at the Internet Marketing (IM) world as a possible place for them to make money, proper, and thrive. In bad times, even more.

Theres even MORE people looking for solutions to problems.

Theyre just looking now! They do a lot of looking (searching). They do a lot of buying, too.

Theres a lot of them and they are growing fast. The internet is where its happening.

There is a definite economic recession going on in the offline world right now. I dont see any trouble in the online sales world. Its growing fast. That makes it more of a sellers market.

Easier, so to speak.

In the Internet Marketing world there is little to no competition! Its just you. baby! When your prospect is looking at your offer on your page they are NOT looking at anybody else. For that moment.

The thing for you to do is create a LOT of those moments and get good at selling them right there, right now. Oh…dont forget to build your list, so you can have another shot at those who didnt buy the first time.

Your success, or lack of it, will be a direct result of the amount of work and the quality of work you put into it.

There is such a huge amount of people looking to buy online that all you have to do is get a very tiny slice of that pie.

Remember Sam Walton? He said A very small percentage of a really big number is still a big number. I agree.

Internet Marketing itself is a great niche, but it requires more expertise than a lot of folks would have or want to learn. It doesnt take anywhere near as much know-how to sell info products or physical products to some very large other markets. (read easier)

Markets like weight loss and credit and baldness and abs and golf and acne. Those are huge markets that are far easier to break into. One reason…maybe the main reason…desperate buyers! Or excited buyers.

People searching for a cure for their acne are not doing research. They have their credit card out and are looking to buy a fix. They want a solution to their problem.

There are a lot of things to learn in online marketing. Learn to build a website. Learn to set up a blog. learn to make a video. learn email marketing.

One of the hardest things to learn is which market to go after and how to go after it.

Get that nailed and youll be ahead of the mass of prospective marketers that havent focused in on a market.

Then you have to settle in and go to work…build some infrastructure. Website, autoresponder, blog, email marketing, article marketing, etc. These are the tools that allow you to put up, on the web, an offer and drive the right traffic to it in order to generate sales.

Yes, Internet Marketing can be complicated. It can also be simple. Simple is usually the case for someone who has already put in a LOT of work! i.e.. already learned to edit html and build a web page on which to put an offer.

The basics are what get you there! Its always been that way and it will remain that way.

Heres something basic. Its a formula. Offer + Buyers = Money You gotta love it.

In this business, like all others, you are rewarded for what you do (action) and not for just being there. So get to work!

Find a market, a group of people buying certain things. Find a product, affiliate is fine, that they will buy. Now find a way to get some of those people to see your offer!

Offer + Buyers = Money.

If its not shown for direct sale on the net it is at LEAST advertised for sale on the net.

Picture yourself in a car on a nice day going down a typical commercial street. Can you see it? Look around as you move down the street.

What do you see? A fast food joint…an oil change outfit…banks…a mall with clothing stores and a nice restaurant. Did you see a bookstore?

A bookstore sells information. Its true that the information is sold in physical products but…the ratio of other stores to bookstores is just HUGE.

Like 99 to 1.

And its the same on the internet. Physical products and real stuff are the vast majority of the things sold. Both in the Internet world and the real world.

Consider that for a moment. Where is your best opportunity?

Your best shot is to define and understand a market, the products that market likes to buy, and the markets buyers.

Find the market. Find the right product for that market. Get the people in the market to see your offer!

One of them is probably just right for you. Dont you wish you knew which one it was? Or maybe you do. if you do, congratulations, you are way ahead.

In any case dont for a minute despair! There are known ways to to sort out which way will suit you the best.

One way is to type in the search at Google list of niche markets. Dont jump on the first thing..youre just looking. theres going to be a bunch.

Another great place to find out whats hot is good old Ebay. They even have a whats hot and whats not list and trend analysis. So does Yahoo!

And dont forget one of the very best sources of marketing information in the world…ezinearticles.com. Go there. Find the most popular article in the niche you are looking into. Read it. Find its keywords.

If its really popular the people in that niche like that content and use those keywords to find it.

From Info marketing to sales of physical products theres a niche out there just waiting for someone like you. Heres to your success, Riley West – An Internet Marketer In The Making.
