It’s seems to always come down to controlling cravings before they wreck your diet. Here are eight simple steps to implement today, to ensure success.

1.Guarantee Success:How long do you think you can stick to a new plan? Find a duration that you’re 100 percent confident you can achieve, even if it’s just a couple of days. Once you make it your goal date, start the process over. This not only establishes the notion that you can be successful, but also gives you a chance to start noticing that eating better makes you feel better, reinforcing your desire to continue.

2.Find More Motivation:If your diet’s only purpose is to help you finally achieve six-pack abs or even just a two-pack, it may be hard to stick with for the long haul. The solution? Provide yourself with additional motivators, monitor migraines, heartburn, acne, canker sores, and sleep quality, along with common measures of cardiovascular health. Discovering that your new diet improves the quality of your life and health can be powerful motivation.

3.Don’t Dwell On Mistakes:Okay, you over-indulged. What’s the next step? Forget about it! One meal doesn’t define your diet, so don’t assume that you’ve failed or fallen off the wagon.A simple rule is to follow any cheat meal with at least five healthy meals and snacks. That ensures that you’ll be eating right more than 80 percent of the time.

4.Eat Breakfast:Sure, you’ve heard this one before. But, consider that if you sleep for 6 to 8 hours and then skip breakfast, your body is essentially running on fumes by the time you reach work. And that sends you desperately seeking sugar, which is easy to find. The most convenient foods are often the same ones you should be avoiding. Thats because they’re usually packed with sugar,or other fast digesting carbohydrates. Which leads to our next strategy.

5.Install Food Regulators:It’s time for a regime change. Clean out your cupboard and fridge, then restock them with almonds and other nuts, cheese, fruit and vegetables, and canned tuna, chicken, and salmon. And do the same at work. By eliminating snacks that don’t match your diet but providing plenty that do, you’re far less likely to find yourself at the doughnut-shop drive-thru or the vending machine.

6.Think Like A Biochemist:It’s true: They make all-natural cookies. But even if a cookie is made with organic cane juice (the hippie name for sugar), it’s still junk food. Ditto for lots of “health foods” in the granola aisle. Thats because hippie sweeteners raise your blood sugar just like the common white stuff. If you’re going to eat a cookie, accept that you’re deviating from your diet plan, and then revert back to your diet afterward. By convincing yourself that it’s healthy, you’re only encouraging a bad habit.

7.Recognize Hunger:Have a craving for sweets, even though you ate just an hour ago? Imagine eating a large sizzling steak instead. If you’re truly hungry, the steak will sound good, and you should eat. If it doesn’t sound good, your brain is playing tricks on you. Change your environment, which can be easy as doing 15 push-ups or finding a different task to focus on.

8.Take A Logical Approach:Before you take a bite of food, consider whether it’s moving you one step closer to your goals or one step farther away. This won’t stop you from making a poor choice every single time, but it does encourage the habit of thinking long-term about what you’re eating right now. The payoff is that 80 to 90 percent of the time, you’ll make a better decision.

How To Cure Bad Breath Permanently

As humans, being liked, popular and sought after is a natural desire inherent in each of us. This is why deodorants, toothpastes, gym memberships and fancy cars sell at astronomical rates. This is also why mints are so popular and hardly a day goes by without someone at work, school or in public asking you “do you have some gum?” You already know what that person may be trying to curb or correct: Bad Breath. (It also relieves you this person didn’t offer you some!)

I wrote once in an article in my blog titled “You’ve lost the weight but how clean are you on the inside?” that exterior indications-though very convincing and at times correct-don’t necessary depict proper health, as disease may manifest itself in various ways. One strong indication of disease is always stench, as a result, if you suffer from bad breath or as is Medically diagnosed, halitosis, this is a sign that you need to make some drastic dietetic changes or undergo a cleanse to curb this unpleasant occurrence.

Using toothpastes (especially the controversial and hazardous fluorinated ones), mints and chewing-gums to curb bad breath, like any artificial drug for any disease, doesn’t cure this ailment but only masks its symptoms temporarily-only for it to come back in full force. This explains why we as humans become addicted to all sorts of unnatural and oft time hazardous substances ranging from pain killers to alcohol.

The necessary and very effective measures one should take in eliminating bad breath are the following (you can trust this author who even upon waking up doesn’t have the so-called ‘morning breath’, falsely and commonly accepted as being natural?nothing my friends could be further from the truth!)

1. Make a change in your diet; for as is known in every culture known to man; “You are what you eat!” Hippocrates- the Father of Medicine once said: “Let your foods be your medicine and your medicines your food”, well ‘what should I eat?’ the uninformed might ask: Plain and simple: alkaline forming/mucus binding foods also known as, you guessed it right (if you’ve read my other articles elsewhere) Fruits and Vegetables.

One common indication of disease besides stench is always mucus and this is introduced into the body by only one means, what you consume, therefore all measures should be taken to eat the foods that not only nourish you but have the added ability and benefit of being able to bind and eradicate the excessive mucus.

I am not trying to be a pro-vegan or vegetarian (heck I’ve smelled bad breath and strong body odor on the most blindly fanatical of both kinds of people before) but, from experiments and being a nature lover, all vegetarian animals-free of human captivity or at least allowed to eat their natural diets (for examples the grazing cattle who consume only grass) DO NOT have any bad breath. For a good example of a suggested daily menu plan, look for my article on ‘How to get rid of Acne in 10 days’ on this site as space is a constricting factor at this time.

2. Practice basic natural oral hygiene. As I indicated in the core e-book of my site, practitioners of Yoga such as the hard-core ones in India, Africa and even here in the USA know of such ancient techniques of cleansing the body that-though not as necessary for the beginner-are very, very effective for eliminating bad breath.

Type “kunjar kriya” up in Google and read what this process is. Being an advanced technique that must be practiced under supervision, a simple and less repugnant (if you think) process will be:

- Brushing the teeth with a toothbrush and pure all natural un-iodized Sea-salt or using an African Chewing stick or even a firm toothbrush exclusively. I always get compliments on my dentition and smile and besides my mother’s genes (if I may be so vain) using one of these methods has proven to me to be the safer and more effective methods of dental hygiene as outlined in chapter 11 of the text mentioned elsewhere in this article.

- Massage the gums with your clean index fingers. This essential practice strengthens the gums and cleans out impurities from its pores.

- After this; join the index, middle and ring fingers and massage the back of the tongue thoroughly for the same purpose.

- When you are done with these two procedures, scrape the tongue thoroughly with a tongue scraper designed exclusively for this or a blunt bread-knife. Intermittently, between all the steps above, you should rinse the mouth with warm saline water and ensure to gargle with this solution upon completion.

As you may have observed from the steps above (and in most of my articles) alleviating the symptom of a discomfort such as bad breath is mostly a two-part procedure: A drastic change in the diet (internal) and natural cleansing procedures/exercises (external). To complete the three limbs of Naturopathy, your positive and open-minded approach in reading this article takes care of the positive thinking aspect.

It never ceases to amaze me how the population so naively accepts mere fads, hyped products and so called drugs to eradicate the myriad of our modern day ailments, but take it from a guy who suffered (note the PAST tense) from asthma, acne, bad breath and depression for a long length of time, most if not all common diseases of this age can and will be things of the past if some basic all-natural methods such as the steps above for bad breath are applied.

Can Your Diet Clear Up Acne Breakouts?

Conventional wisdom used to say that your diet (eating chocolate or greasy foods) would result in an unwanted acne breakout. Later skin professionals and dermatologists learned that there is no proven scientific connection between acne and food. But does what you eat really have a direct influence on the status of your face?

The answer is ‘no’, a bad food diet does not ‘directly’ cause an acne breakout. But, as most doctors will tell you, what you choose to put in your body will have a definite effect on your health, including your skin health. Excessive caffeine, sugary foods, and greasy, fatty snacks will all have a negative effect on our overall health. And if your skin is particularly susceptible to acne, maintaining a poor diet will definitely not help the situation. A bad food diet can therefore have an ‘indirect’ effect!

Choosing foods that are high in sugar, fat content, and refined carbohydrates can all be damaging to your skin health. Studies have shown that too much sugar and refined carbohydrates in your diet can lead to a surge in insulin. This can create the condition known as IGF-1, where an increase in insulin creates the over-production of male hormones. And excessive male hormones can produce an excess of sebum, the greasy stuff that can clog your pores, attract bacteria, and create an environment conducive to acne! IGF-1 is also believed to cause keratinocytes to multiply, which can wreak havoc on skin.

Saturated fats are the bad guys of the food world. Doctors have been warning of the health consequences of consuming trans fats and saturated fats. The negative consequences of saturated fats on the body are a weakening the immune system, promoting inflammation, and for those prone to acne breakouts, raising the skin’s oil production level. Keep your body healthy and filled with good health-promoting nutrients for the best complexion possible. You should strive to reduce saturated fats -they will certainly not help you in your battle against acne.

But all oils are not bad. There are also good oils which are actually conducive to healthy skin. In fact, certain oils are absolutely essential. These essential fatty acids reduce inflammation and help promote healthy skin, What oils should you add to your regular diet? Fish Oil, olive oil, and flax oil are all good oils that should become a part of your diet. Fish oil and flax oil in particular are recommended for maintaining a glowing complexion.

What about vitamins and minerals? You should maintain a steady intake of vitamins and minerals to promote a healthy skin-enriching diet. Vitamin A is paramount for promoting healthy skin. Vitamin A is found in abundance in avocados and carrots. Vitamin B-6, Vitamin C, and Zinc are other important nutrients for promoting a good complexion. An easy way to ensure that you’re getting all the vitamins and minerals you need to help fight acne is to eat a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, and essential fatty acids.

One of the lesser-considered aspects of the food and acne debate is the role that food allergies play in promoting acne. Some people experience severe cases of acne even if they lead a very healthy diet and have never suffered from severe acne before. The cause could be a food allergy of some kind.

Common causes of food allergies include excess sugar, dairy products, and certain refined flours and grains. Avoid foods rich in iodine, which have been linked to acne in the past. If you consume iodized salt, make the switch to sea salt. Iodine-rich foods may include salt, liver, cheese, crabs, shellfish, clams, and kelp products. If you find dairy products exacerbate your acne, consider switching to soy or rice milk and cheese products.

Whether certain foods cause an acne or whether these foods are just one of many contributing factors is an ongoing debate. Much has been learned and much more has yet to be learned. Add to this the fact that one individual may be affected by a certain food and another not at all and you quickly learn there is no single answer, no magic bullet that will work for everyone. But hopefully this information will help you determine what works for you!
